This season, Neftchi's struggle for the cup was as successful as in the championship. The flagship, who was released from the first stage (1/16), scored 5 unanswered goals in the 1/8 final against Ganja's "Taraggi" club.  

However, the quarterfinal matches with Simurg were not easy. No score was recorded in the first match in Zagatala. As no goals were scored in the main time of the return match in Baku, two additional parts were scheduled. It was Flavinho's goal in the extra time that took our team to the semifinals.
