Yuri Vernydub: “We Want to Show What We Are Capable Of”

Ahead of Neftçi’s UEFA Conference League Second Qualifying Round second-leg fixture against Dinamo Minsk, which will kick off at 21:00 Baku time on 30 July at Beroe Stadium in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, our head coach Yuri Vernydub spoke to the club’s media team.

“Defeats like the first leg always leave a psychological impact. Nevertheless, I believe we are ready for this match and want to show what we are capable of. If we have character, we will go out onto the pitch and fight until the very end. That is why we are looking forward to tomorrow’s game.

I know our opponents have also prepared thoroughly. Tomorrow will show which direction we are heading. My only wish is for my players to understand what is at stake, demonstrate it on the pitch and fight like men.

All of our players are fit and available for selection. I would like to apologise to our supporters for the defeat in the first leg. Tomorrow, we want to deliver a performance worthy of Neftçi and show that we are always determined to fight for victory.

I hope our supporters will continue to stand by us at all times, both during difficult moments and in the good times.”
