May 14 – The team became the nine-time champion of Azerbaijan.

August 30 – For the first time in the history of Azerbaijani football, Neftchi earned a spot in the UEFA Europa League group stage.

May 1 – The team became the six-time champion of Azerbaijan.

January 22 – The team won the Commonwealth Cup tournament, held among the champions of the CIS countries.

May 8 – Neftchi began competing in the first championship of independent Azerbaijan.

October 24 – The team officially won the first Azerbaijan championship.

The club was officially renamed the Oilers.

November 30 – Our team took 3rd place in the USSR Championship and won bronze medals.

On April 17, Neftyanik, just entering the USSR Premier League, won its first match. At the Lenin Stadium in Baku, they defeated the Moscow Air Force team 1-0. Viktor Anoshkin scored the only goal.

The Neftyanik football club was established.

March 15 – The approved regulations of the USSR championship were sent to Baku by telegram.

March 21 – The first information about Neftyanik was published in the newspaper “Azerbaijani Bodybuilder”.

May 24 – Our team played its first official match, defeating Yerevan “Dynamo” 1:0 in the 1/64 finals of the USSR Cup. The winning goal was scored by Pavel Shtyrlin in the 87th minute of the match at the “Dynamo” stadium in Baku.
