Yuri Vernidub: “We must analyse this game, learn from our mistakes and look ahead”

Following Neftçi PFK’s Matchday 3 fixture against Zirə in the Misli Premier League, head coach Yuri Vernidub answered questions from journalists at the post-match press conference: “We lost today. We must not lose heart. We need to analyse this game, learn from our mistakes and look ahead. It is still early in the championship and everything is ahead of us. We created some dangerous chances, but we were unable to finish our attacks. We should also take into account that we played with 10 men for more than 20 minutes. Despite that, we did not give up and continued to attack. Our players kept fighting until the end. We made a mistake in the final minute of first-half stoppage time. Perhaps, if we had not conceded that goal, the second half would have been completely different.”
