Yuri Vernidub: “We dropped two points today because I always want to win”

“Neftçi” PFK head coach Yuri Vernidub answered journalists’ questions at the press conference held after the team’s Matchday 7 fixture against “Sabah” in the Misli Premier League.

“I really liked the performances of both ‘Neftçi’ and ‘Sabah’. Our opponents are the reigning champions and participants in the Champions League. We witnessed a closely contested match between two evenly matched sides. We created more dangerous chances, but failed to take them. I am grateful to my players for maintaining both the tempo and the intensity throughout the game. They hardly lost any of their duels. My only regret is that we could not score. Nevertheless, one point is also acceptable for us as we continue to build our style of play and move forward. We should also bear in mind that both teams had a large number of players returning from international duty. We dropped two points today because I always want to win.”
