History of Stadium

“Neftçi Arena” was opened on September 14, 2012. Sports facility located at Jamshid Nakhchivanski str.54, 8th km settlement, Nizami district, Baku, and was previously called as 8th km Stadium and “Bakcell Arena”. Stadium with a total area of 22,500 square meters is equipped with modern equipment that meets international standards. President of Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva participated in opening ceremony of Arena.

      

Stadium hosted matches of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup,U-17 European Championship, World Cup and EURO Qualifiers, UEFA Champions League and Europa Conference League Qualification Round, UEFA Europa League Qualification and Group stage, and other tournaments. “Neftçi Arena” has UEFA Stadium Category 4.

After 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2012, it was handed over to our team by mutual agreement between AFFA and “Neftçi” PFK. Our team played its first match at this stadium against “Sumgayit” in 13th tour of 2012/13 Azerbaijan Premier League season.

Structure of Stadium

      

“Neftçi Arena” consists of 3 entrance including Media and VIP, and 5 sectors. Stadium with 11,000 spectator capacity has VIP tribune with 908 seats. 17 skyboxes, VIP and Media tribune, 4 dressing rooms for teams, rooms for coaches, referees , doctors, doping control room, press conference room, and other rooms are located in stadium. Club museum and fan store is operating at Arena. Stadium has parking - garage and parking lot with 400 car capacity.

Stadium has 17 skyboxes and lounge to accommodate guests.

Media tribune and press conference room

      

“Neftçi Arena” has good conditions for media representatives and there is special entrance to stadium area for them. Press conference room and media office are located on the 1st floor. They can enter to Media tribune located on the 3rd floor via entrance specially operated for them. There are special tables for journalists who take notes in front of computer during match. There are 18 commentator spaces for TV and radio channels in that tribune.
