Rustam Mammadagha oglu Afsarli was born on January 18, 1987, in the city of Baku.
He is a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism of Baku State University.
Rustam Afsarli has been in the sports media since 2005. Since 2015, he has worked at the “CBC Sport” channel. During this period, he has been the creator and participant of various projects, led the Commentators group at the television channel, and worked as a Program Director. He has worked as a commentator, presenter, and producer at both national and international sports competitions, and he won the “Best Commentator of the Year” award in 2018 and 2020.
In 2017, he became the press secretary of “Neftçi” PFK. Since July 2024, he has been the club’s Media Coordinator.
